mission/aim
The Alliance aims to provide a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals at our school and to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ issues.

2. to create a safe and open space for LGBTQ+ individuals at CDNIS

what is LGBTQ+?
lgbtq+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer. it is an umbrella term for sexual minorities, otherwise known as people who do not identify with their assigned gender (cisgender) or heterosexuality. the '+' sign is a nod towards other identities and sexualities under the umbrella.
is there a LGBTQ+ law in hong kong?
currently, the Hong Kong government does not criminalize homosexuality, and only transgender people who have undergone gender reassignment surgery are allowed to have a change of sex on legal documents.
"The Hong Kong Bill of Rights Ordinance (Cap. 383)" protects individuals against sexual orientation discrimination from the Government and public authorities of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
there is no official recognition of homosexual relationships between two Hong Kong citizens. marriages and civil partnerships between same-sex couples are recognized for the purpose of issuing dependent visas as well as for the purpose of spousal benefits. same-sex couples are not allowed to adopt children as a couple.
